Fundamental Properties:

All the waves, no matter what the mode or medium, contain three distinct though inter-dependent properties. The wavelength is the distance among similar points on two contiguous waves. It is measured in meters. The frequency is the number of wave cycles which take place or which pass a given point per unit time. It is identified in cycles per second, or generally hertz. The propagation speed is the rate at which the disturbance travels via the medium. It is clocked in meters per second. These three properties are associated: Speed equals wavelength time's frequency. The consistent units should be used for this association to have meaning.
