Heat Exchanger Applications

Few of the practical applications of different kinds of heat exchangers are as follows:

• Preheat the combustion air via medium to high temperature exhaust gases for  
-  Boilers employing air pre-heaters
-  Furnaces employing recuperators
-  Ovens employing recuperators

• Preheat liquid or solid feed-stocks by low to medium-temperature exhaust gases.  
• Preheat boiler feed-water or make-up or make-up water employing economizer that is a gas-to-water heat exchanger.
• Generate steam in waste heat boilers.
• Transfer waste heat to liquid or gaseous procedure unit directly via pipe and ducts, or indirectly via a secondary fluid like steam or oil.
