Stop Check Valves:
A stop check valve, described in Figure, is a mixture of a lift check valve and a globe valve. It has a stem that, while closed, avoids the disk from coming off the seat and provides a tight seal (same to a globe valve).
Figure: Stop Check Valve
While the stem is operated to the open position then the valve operates as a lift check. A stem is not linked to the disk and functions to close the valve strongly or to limit the travel of the valve disk within the open direction.
