Globe Valve Body Designs:

There are three basic body designs for globe valves are Z-body, Y-body, and Angle.

Z-Body Design

The simplest design and most general for water applications is the Z-body. The Z-body is described in Figure. For this body design, a Z-shaped diaphragm or partition across the globular body holds the seat. A horizontal setting of the seat permits the stem and disk to travel at right angles to the pipe axis. The stem passes by the bonnet that is attached to a huge opening at the top of the valve body. This gives a symmetrical form in which simplifies installation, manufacture, and repair.
