Matrix Layout:
A matrix layout model has to be consisting of the subsequent layout objects:
1. At least two repeating frames one own with a Print Direction set to Across and with a Print Direction set as down.
2. Various group header, and footer (if summaries are involved) frames.
3. A matrix object created for the cross product group which involves cells of the matrix.
4. Boilerplate for every column and row of values, in addition for summaries.
Matrix / Cross Product Object
Matrix object describes the intersection of at least two repeating frames. Repeating frames are the dimensions of the matrix and the matrix object holds at least one field which contains the filler or values of the cell group. One matrix object has to be created for every pair of intersecting repeating frames in the layout. One of the repeating frames must have a Print Direction of Down and the other must have a Print Direction of Across in order to form a matrix. The Matrix object can be created using cross product button on the toolbar.
Matrix reports are variant from tabular reports since the number of columns is not known in advance; in which is the number of columns in the report is not determined through the number of columns specified in the SELECT statement plus the columns created. The number of columns in the report relies on the number of values hold in the columns giving the horizontal labels.
The Solution is:
• Create a new report
• Create a query
• Create Groups
• Create Default Layout
• Create Summary columns.
• Add zeroes on the place of non-existent values.
• Create user parameter.
