Production machine tools are capable of increasing the rate of production and reducing the manufacturing cost as well. For example multiple head drilling machine, multiple tool lathe, capstan and turret lathe, semi-automatic lathe, automatic screw machine, production milling machine etc.

Special Purpose Machine Tool

The machine tools that are able to carry out machining of large quantity of similar products are classified as special purpose machine tools. These types of machines are rather important in dropping manufacturing cost when relative jobs are continuously performed. Examples of special purpose machine tools are piston turning lathe, gear generator, camshaft grinder, form tool etc.
