Cantilever Beams:

A beam fixed at one of end & free at the other end is called as cantilever.

Simply Supported Beam  

A beam supported or resting freely on the walls or columns at its both ends is called as simply supported beam. The support might be hinged or roller support.

A beam having its end location (or portions) extended in the form of a cantilever beyond the support is known as overhanging beam. A beam might be overhanging on one side or on both sides. The support might be fixed, hinged or roller support.
