Flow Equalization
Flow equalization is a method used to improve the effectiveness of secondary and advanced wastewater treatment processes through leveling out operation parameters like as flow, temperature and pollutant levels over a period of time. Differences are damped until a near-constant flow rate is achieved and minimizing the downstream effects of these parameters. The flow equalization might be applied at a number of locations inside a wastewater treatment plant, example for near the head end of the treatment works, prior to discharge within a water body, and prior to advanced waste treatment operations.
