Refrigeration in Air Transport:

Refrigerated air transport of some of the commodities may be justified on the basis of saving in the time & preservation of quality. In some of passenger aircraft, the cargo compartments are chilled by the air-conditioning system itself. In cargo aircraft, the perishables are pre-cooled previous to shipment. For transit refrigeration, if essential, refrigerant packages of water ice, dry ice or other substances are utilized.
