Q:     Calculate the dc load voltage for the circuit shown in the diagram.

SOLUTION:

Primary voltage is in rms so we might calculate the peak voltage

                                                             V1(pk) = Vrms/0.707

                                                                                    = 75/0.707= 106.08Vpk

Primary voltage & turn ratio is known so we might find the secondary voltage

                                       V2(pk) =(N2/N1)V1pk=1/4(106.08) =26.52Vpk

Now load voltage might be determined as

                                        VL(pk) = V2/2 - 0.7= 26.52/2 -0.7= 11.86Vpk

Now dc value of the voltage could be determined as

                                                Vave = 2VL(pk)/ Π

                                                                     = 0.636VL(pk) = 0.636(11.86) = 9.54 Vdc
