Q:     Calculate the output for the square wave input indicated in the diagram.

Answer:

During positive half cycle. The diode is within the short circuit condition and by applying KVL equation

                                                V0= 20 + 5 = 25V

For negative half cycle Vi = -10Volts the result in placing the diode in the reverse condition.
