Q:     Calculate the dc output voltage for the circuit indicated in the diagram.

SOLUTION:

            We will begin by solving out the circuit as if this was a positive half  wave rectifier. primary,

                                                     V2(pk)= 48Vac/0.707

                                                            = 67.9 Vpk

                                    And

                                                    VL(PK) = V2(pk) - 0.7 

                                                      VL(PK) = 67.2Vpk       //     V2(pk)= 67.9 Vpk

                                    At last,

                                                         Vave = Vpk/ π= 21.39Vdc

Now we shall only change all of positive voltage values to negative voltage values.

                                                   V2(pk) = - 67.9Vpk

                                                    VL(pk) = - 67.2 Vpk

                                                       Vave = - 21.39 Vdc
