Instrumentation:

The instrument used in thermogravimetry (TG) is known as a thermobalance.   It consists of various basic components in sequence to give the flexibility essential for   the production of useful analytical data in the form of TGA Curve as displays in Figure.

Basic components of a classic thermobalance are listed below:

i) Balance

ii) Furnace: heating device

iii) Unit for control and temperature measurement (Programmer)

iv) Recorder: It is an automatic recording unit for the mass and temperature modifies

These components might be represented through simple block diagram as in Figure
