Factors Affecting Tg Curve:
In the starting of these units we talked about the lowest temperature, Ti at that the onset of a mass change could be detected through the thermobalance operating under particular conditions and Tf is the final temperature at that the decomposition completed. We might like to call this as decomposition temperature that is not correct. In fact in TGA experiments, Ti and Tf both do not have fundamental importance, but they could still be meaningful features of a TG curve and the termed procedural decomposition temperature. It is frequently used for the temperature at that mass change appears to commence. This denotes us which procedural decomposition temperature does not have a fixed value, but depends on the experimental procedure employed to get it. Same to this there are several factors that influence a TGA curve. These factors might be because of instrumentation or nature of sample. We have listed the major factors that affect the shape, precision and accuracy of the experimental output in thermogravimetry.
