Extended Aeration
The extended aeration process is similar to the conventional plug- flow process except that it operates in the endogenous respiration phase of the growth curve that needs a low organic loading and long aeration time. The procedure is used extensively for prefabricated package plants for small communities. BOD removal efficiency varies between 75-95%.
