Ladder Layout

In this system, the workstations are arranged in a loop with rungs as illustrated in Figure 3. The rungs help is drop the congestion and permit for smooth part flow among machines.

Open Field Layout

In this system, there are multiple loops for suitable arrangement of all the facilities as illustrated in Figure 4. Generally this type of system is suitable for a large group of parts to be machined. The facilities might consist of a number of workstations along different varieties. The material handling is provided with AGVs along the guide path.
