Unix is Heterogeneous
Unix is being often criticized for lacking consistency among versions, applications and even vendors . It is not the product of any single corporation or group and this does have an important impact on its personality. A Linux operating system is probably the ultimate expression of UNIX's collective identity. The Linux kernel and announced it to the Internet After Linus Torvalds has created, people from whole the world began to contribute to the Linux Operating System. Clearly, Linux reflects a different view on how computers should work. As similar Unix does it too.
Unix has historically been divided into two major variants: AT&T's Unix System V and The University of California's BSD Unix. Mainly of the main vendors are now moving toward System V, but many BSD extensions will always remain.
