Follower Movement:

The cam is supposed to rotate along constant speed & the movement of the follower throughout a complete revolution is explained by a displacement 'y' that is plotted against the angle of cam rotation 'θ'. It contains three distinct portions which are rise, return & dwell. Dwell might be between rise & return and after return also. The points of inflexion throughout rise and return portions match up to the pitch points. At these points velocity of the follower is upmost.
