Unauthorized use of electricity:
Unauthorized use of electricity show in the above figure means the use of electricity by
- Through any artificial means, or
- Through means not authorized by a person or authority or licensee concerned, or
- By a tampered meter, or
- For the reasons other than for which the usage of electricity was authorized.
Therefore as per section 126 of the Electricity Act, 2003 an appeal could be made within 30 days of the order of the Appellate Authority. The consumer has to deposit an amount equivalent to one-third of the assessed amount while filing the appeal. The Appellate Authority should make a decision after hearing both the parties and this order will be final.
