Configurational Isomers - Alkenes and Cycloalkanes:
Configurational isomers are isomers that have similar molecular formula and similar molecular structure. Other words, they have similar atoms and similar bonds. Though, the isomers are different due to some of the atoms are set differently in space, and the isomers cannot be inter converted with no breaking and remaking covalent bonds. The result of it is, Configurational isomers are different compounds comprising different properties. Common instances of Configurational isomers are substituted alkenes and substituted cycloalkanes in which the substituents are arranged differently with respect to each other.
