Ball Float Steam Trap:
A ball float steam trap is described in Figure. The valve of this trap is linked to the float in like a way in which the valve opens while the float rises.
While the trap is in operation, a steam and any water which might be mixed along with it flows within the float chamber. Water, being heavier than the steam, falls to the bottom of the trap and after that it causing the water level to increase. Since the water level rises then it lifts the float; therefore lifting the valve plug and opening the valve. A condensate drains out and the float moves down to a lower position and closing the valve previous the condensate level gets low sufficient to permit steam to escape. The condensate which passes out of the trap is returned to the feed system.
