Quota

Quota permits specifying limits on two aspects of disk storage: the number of inodes a user or a group of users might possess; and the number of disk blocks which might be allocated to a user or a group of users. A Quota forces users to stay under their disk consumption limit, taking away their capability to consume unlimited disk space on a system. A Quota is handled on per user and per file system basis. Quota has to be set for every file system separately if there is more than one file system that a user is expected to use.
