Power Range Nuclear Instrumentation:
There are three ranges are used to monitor the power level of a reactor by the full range of reactor operation. The power range creates use of an uncompensated ion chamber.

Power range nuclear instrumentation generally consists of four identical linear power level channels that originate in eight uncompensated ion chambers. The outcome is a steady current generated through the neutron flux. The Uncompensated ion chambers are utilized within the power range since gamma compensation is unnecessary; the neutron-to-gamma flux ratio is high. For having a high neutron-to-gamma flux ratio means which the number of gammas is insignificant compared to the number of neutrons.
