Product Size Risks
There is few experienced managers would debate the following statement the project risk is directly proportional to product size. There are the following risk item checklist identifies generic risks related with product size:
1. Percentage deviation in size of product from average for previous products?
2. Estimated size of the product in LOC or FP?
3. Degree of confidence in estimated size estimate?
4. Estimated size of product in number of programs, files, and transactions?
5. Size of database created or used by the product?
6. Number of users of the product?
7. Number of projected changes to the requirements for the product? After delivery? Before delivery?
8. Amount of reused software?
In the every case the information for the product to the developed must be compared to previous experience if a huge % deviation occurs or if numbers are same, but previous results was considerably less than satisfactory risk is high.
