To accomplish this type of mechanisms for formal and informal communication between team members and among multiple teams must be developed.  Formal communication is accomplished by structured meetings, writing and another relatively non-interactive and impersonal communication channels. The Informal communication is more personal. Members of a software engineering team ask for help as problems arise, share ideas on an ad hoc basis, and interact with one to other regular.
