System Engineering
The term system is possibly the most abused and overused term in the technical lexicon. We speak of educational systems political and systems of manufacturing systems and avionics systems of subway systems and banking systems. The term tells us short. We use the adjective defining system to get an idea the context in that the word is used. Webster's Dictionary describes system as a group or arrangement of things so associated as to form a unity or organic whole... a group of principles, facts, rules etc., arranged and classified in an orderly form so as to show a logical plan linking the several parts ... a technique or arrangement of classification or plan ...an development way of doing method; something; procedure... 5 additional definitions are given in the dictionary since no precise synonym is suggested system is a special word.\
Borrowing from Webster's definition we describe a computer-based system as:
A group of arrangement of elements which are organized to accomplish some predefined target through processing information.
