Order Scheduling
This follows directly from the order assigns module and releases the production orders to the different work centers in the plant. The order scheduling modules arrange the dispatching list that implies which production orders must be accomplished on the different work centers. This also offers the information about relative priorities of the various jobs, for example: by showing the due dates for all jobs. Different dispatching rules are employed for this purpose, for example: FCFS that is First-Come-First-Serve, SPT that is Shortest Processing Time, and so on. In shop floor control the order scheduling module is intended in production control to solve two problems as:
(a) Machine loading that is assigned orders to work centers, and
(b) Job sequencing, including determine the sequence whether the jobs will be processed with a given work centers based upon priority level.
