Materials Requirement Planning (MRP):
In this approach, the raw parts and other intermediate needs are generated by exploiting the information achieved from the customers. Further, these raw parts are combined with the available inventory to fulfil the net needs to complete the task. Apart from the extensive use in the scheduling techniques, the materials requirement planning (MRP) may be in the capacity management.
Network Analysis
In this technique, several interrelated and interdependent facilities needed for the completion of jobs may be easily scheduled. Along with this, slack time is being recognized. This approach can be utilized in scheduling the activities from a start date (forward network analysis), or by backward working from the completion date (backward network analysis).
Reverse Scheduling
In reverse scheduling approach, the customers are satisfied by resolute their requirements. These requirements are scheduled in reverse direction from the due date requirements.
Forward Scheduling
This procedure is just opposite to reverse scheduling. Here, the time needed for the completion of any requirements is resolute by scheduling from the arrival of orders.
Line of Balance
This technique is used in calculation of the specific quantities, components that must be completed before on a particular scheduled date. This way it acts both as a scheduling and control technique.
