Asimov’s three laws
In the early science fiction stories, the famous author Isaac Asimov initially mentioned the word robotics, along with 3 fundamental rules that all the robots ought to obey:
• First Law: A robot should not injure, or allow injury of, any human being.
• Second Law: A robot should obey all the orders from humans, except orders which would contradict the First Law.
• Third Law: A robot should protect itself, except when to do so would contradict First Law or Second Law.
These rules were first coined in the year 1940s, but they are still considered as good standards for robots nowadays.
