Second generation
The second-generation robot has some level of AI. This type of machine is equipped with pressure sensors, tactile sensors, binocular vision, proximity sensors, binaural hearing, and/or other devices which keep it informed about goings on in the world around it. A computer called as robot controller processes the data from the sensors and adjusts the operation of robot accordingly. The earliest 2nd generation robots came into the common use around the year 1980.The 2nd-generation robots even can stay synchronized with each other, without even the supervision required constantly by a human operator. Evidently, periodic checking is required with any machine, as things can always go wrong, and more complex the system, more ways it can malfunction.
