Working Stresses in Rivets:
The maximum permissible stress in rivets as per IS 800: 1984 are given in Table. Here the area and effective diameter of the rivet is the area and diameter of rivet hole as calculated in Eqs. The value of fy in the last column is the yield stress in steel of the connected part.
