Case studies of regional trading blocs:

In order to probe into the validity of some of the theories as also to highlight the differences  in  theories and practice it would be worthwhile  to analyse some of the Gases of regional  trading arrangements  in different parts of  the world.  In this regard, an overview of the experiences of APEC, EU, NAFTA, ASEAN, SAARC  etc. are presented. In addition, some of  the experiences relating  to the India's engagements  in this regard are also discussed.  It would be noticed that the proliferation of RTAs have mostly been taking place due  to  their actual and potential trade and economic gains.
