Acylation:
Primary and secondary amines (both of the aromatic and aliphatic) can be acylated along with an acid chloride or acid anhydride to make secondary and tertiary amides, correspondingly. This reaction can be observed as the acylation of an amine or like the nucleophilic substitution of a carboxylic acid derivative.
