Man-made Sources:
Numerous potential and original sources of tritium production exist within the United States, the France, United Kingdom, and other countries. They involve light-water reactors, fuel reprocessing facilities, heavy-water reactors, and production reactors. Light-water reactors generates among 500 and 1000 Ci/yr of tritium in their coolant for every 1000 MW (e) of power. The Heavy-water reactors generate arond 2 x 106 Ci/yr of tritium in their coolant for every 1,000 MW(e) of power.
