Galvanizing
Galvanizing is a commercial term utilized to designate a process by which zinc coating is generated on iron or low carbon steel by immersion in molten bath of zinc. Galvanized sheets & pipes, etc. are protected against corrosion.
The galvanization of zinc to the surface of metal might be accomplished by four different processes : Sherardizing, schoop (or spraying) , electrolytic plating, and the hot dipping process. The hot dipping procedure is probably the most economical of all the galvanizing process for mass production.
It is utilized for all of forms of outdoor hardware, pipes, structural parts, sheetings for roors and walls of building, ash cans, washtubs, all sorts of containers, telegraph poles and wire, fencing materials, transformer parts, etc.
