Alkaline Cleaning
It is the most common type of cleaning with alkali. It is efficient and economical in removing oil and grease by saponification or emulsification or both. Mineral, lard and unpigmented drawing compounds are easily removed by alkaline cleaners. Silicones, paraffin and sulphurised, oxidized or carbonized, oils are hard but can be removed by alkaline cleaners.
