C4AF, C3A, C2S and C3S
The properties of all these last compounds of cement are discussed as follows:
Tri-calcium Silicate (C3S)
It possesses the following properties:
(a) It hydrates rapidly.
(b) It generates more heat of hydration.
(c) It develops early strength.
(d) It has fewer resistances to sulphate attack.
