Types of Control System:
Later on the completion of scheduling process, it becomes very essential to control the production procedure. Some approaches for the control of production system are given as following:
Pond-draining Systems
This approach mostly focuses on the holding the reservoirs of materials to support the production procedure. It is considered as the most common approach to resolve the control process. In this process, only a little information is flowed among the suppliers and customers level, because the manufacturers are unaware of any data associated to production of orders. As a result of that several products are made earlier and stored in the finished-good inventory. Now, while the customers demanded these products, the finished good inventory becomes drained of products. The finished-good inventory restored the products by making the finished goods from the work-in-process (WIP) inventory. Now, WIP inventory becomes exhausted from the products. The WIP inventory becomes enriched of the semi-finished products by extracting the raw materials inventory. This way a pond-draining approach may be utilized to process of production planning and control whereas utilizing a little information from the suppliers and producers.
