As mentioned above,  the developing countries have not benefited significantly from the S & D treatment. Irony is that, instead, they have been subjected to special trade restrictions in various  forms in critical areas of  their export interest. Also they get, in  fact, less than equal  treatment  in some matters.

From to time  to time, the major developed  countries  adopted various methods to put special trade restrictions on the imports from the developing countries.
