Limitations:
(a) Higher grades of concrete and steel are needed.
(b) Skilled labours are needed.
(c) Pre-stressed concrete is commonly limited to members which have long spans and carry heavy loads.
(d) Special pre-stressing equipment is needed.
(e) Handling and transportation of heavy pre-stressed member is difficult.
(f) Cost of the materials is higher due to the higher grade.
(g) More labours are required.
