Structural Barriers

Impenetrable physical structural barriers might be given continuously at plinth level to avoid entry to termites by walls. These barriers might be in the form of concrete layer or metal layer. Cement concrete layers should be 5 to 7.5 cm thick and should preferably be remain at projecting about 5 to 7.5 cm externally and internally. Metal barrier might consist of non-corrodible sheets of copper or galvanized iron of 0.8 mm thick. These sheets are probable to be damaged; in that case, they become ineffective against termites movement.
