Soil Treatment

The most reliable technique to protect building against termites is to apply a chemical treatment to the soil at the time of construction of the building. This treatment consists within poisoning the soil underneath the building and around the foundations of the buildings along with insecticide solution. This should be completed in such a way in which a complete chemical barrier is created among the ground from where the termites come and damage wood work in the building. Since insecticide solution consists of anyone of the subsequent chemicals in water emulsion:

(a)        Aldrin 0.5%

(b)       Heptachlor 0.5%

(c)        Chlordane 1% (while chemical concentration is expressed by weight).

In order in which the soil treatment might be fully effective, the chemical water emulsion should be applied in needed quantity on whole area of ground covered through the building. To make sure uniform distribution of the chemical emulsion, a watering could or hand operated compressed air sprayer can be used. The soil treatment should be applied in the subsequent stages:
