Rotary Moving Vane Pump:
The rotary moving vane pump displays in Figure is another category of positive displacement pump used. A pump consists of a cylindrically bored housing along with a suction inlet on one side and a discharge outlet on the other. A cylindrically shaped rotor along with a diameter smaller than the cylinder is driven about an axis placed above a centerline of the cylinder.
The clearance among rotor and cylinder is small at the top but raises at the bottom. A rotor carries vanes which move in and out as it rotates to manage sealed spaces among the rotor and the cylinder wall. A vane trap liquid or gas on the suction side and hold it to the discharge side, whereas contraction of the space expels it by the discharge line. The vanes might swing on pivots, or they might slide in slots within the rotor.
