Environmental Concerns:

Ambient temperature variations could affect the accuracy and reliability of certain categories of position indication instrumentation.  Variations in ambient temperature could directly affect the resistance of parts in the instrumentation circuitry, and, thus, affect the calibration of electric/electronic equipment. An effect of temperature variations are decrease through the design of the circuitry and through maintaining the position indication instrumentation within the proper environment, whereas possible.

The presence of humidity will also affect most electrical equipment, especially electronic equipment. A High humidity causes moisture to collect on the equipment. That moisture could cause short circuits, grounds, and corrosion that, in turn, might damage components. The effects because of humidity are controlled through managing the equipment within the proper environment, whereas possible.
