Advantages and Limitations:

• One of the main advantages of plaster mould casting is that the plaster of paris contains very low thermal conductivity. In other terms, the mould medium does not conduct the heat away from the molten metal and, therefore, permits the metal to remain in a liquid state much longer. Due to this, very thin sections might be properly filled by using this procedure.
• High dimensional accuracy and smooth surfaces are attained through this procedure.
