Types of plasma sources:

Accordingly, there are three types of plasma sources. These are as follows.

• Inductively coupled plasma (ICP)
• Direct current plasma (DCP)
• Microwave induced plasma (MIP)

Of the three, the radio-frequency, and inductively coupled plasma (ICP), source appears to offer the greatest advantage in terms of sensitivity and freedom from interference.
