Machinability:

Components might be established through removing metal "chips" through mechanical deformation. This process is referred to as machining. Machinability defines how a metal reacts to mechanical deformation through removing chips, along with respect to the amount of metal efficiently removed and the surface finish attainable. Mechanical properties of the metal will be the factors which influence the machinability of a metal.

Several elements used in nuclear reactor construction use machined categories which needs extremely close tolerances and extremely smooth surfaces. Therefore, machinability becomes an important consideration while selecting materials for manufacturing these categories.
