Short-term Planning

For proper distribution planning, we first required to study the existing system, ascertain loss level and decide on immediate action to be taken to meet the needs of consumers and give them uninterrupted quality power supply. In the present scenario, it has been found in which 11 kV and 33 kV feeders are loaded more than 100% of their rated current carrying capacity. This output in extremely high technical losses and requires to be immediately relieved by short-term planning.

Therefore, the objectives of short-term planning are to:

1. Develop exact case studies and projects in a systematic manner;
2. Adjust capacity of 33 kv,11 kv feeders, transformers, power transformers, distribution and Lt lines;
3. Take immediate action to bifurcate heavily loaded 33 kv, 11 kv feeders;
4. Augment conductor along with the properly sized conductors;
5. Decrease length of Lt lines (maximum 0.5 km per transformer);
6. Implement projects for proper maintenance;
7. Compute required investments; and
8. Arrange tie-ups along with financial institutions for funds.
