Volt

  1.   This unit is named as after Alessandro Volta.
  2.   Basically, the volt is the measure of the work required to move an electric charge. While 0.7376 foot-pound of work is needed to move 6.25x1018 electrons among two points, each with its own charge and the potential difference is one.
  3.   6.25x1018 electrons built up one coulomb.
  4.   0.7376 ft-lb of work is similar as I joule, which is the practical unit of energy or work. So we may say that 1V=1J/1C
  5.   For voltage V is symbol of potential difference.
  6.   Actually, the volt unit is utilized so often that potential difference is known voltage.
