Resistance in Parallel
Let two resistances having terminals A, B and C, D as indicated in the figure
If we connect A with C & B with D they are called to be connected in parallel.
The corresponding of these two resistances will be
1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2= (R1R2)/(R1+R2)
If N resistances are connected in parallel their corresponding will be
1/Req =1/R1+1/R2+1/R3+....+1/RN
For Example
Solve the given circuit.
Solution: 1k is in parallel having 1k Ω so
Req = (R1R2)/(R1+R2 )
= 1/2
=0.5 k Ω
